Oopsie. Our bad.

This is what one of those thick West Marine dock lines look like from the inside.

If you want to cut a line, we recommend weathering a gale on a mooring buoy. The weather mitigated not too long after this happened and we have had a very mild last 24 hours.

These are lines that came with the boat and were close to being retired after weathering 3 years of the storms that beat us at Port of Sidney marina. We had 4 with 2 with some substantial chafe points. We put leather chafe guards and set the lines in a shortened way so that the chafed bits weren't load bearing...but I think now we are ready to buy some new ones.

Hi Livia: We have the fids if you want to splice new lines and not pay for the splice loop. It's a 20 step procedure, but well worth the effort. Time is money, so it's no wonder the chandlers charge so much.

  2. "fid"? "splice loop"? "chandlers"? I feel like I'm reading another language :)

  3. Thanks Tim & Carolyn - *I* understand you :)

@Valerie - you can help me do the splice. You are good with crochet etc so you'll come naturally to it.
